Basketball BC honoured long-time Handsworth basketball coach Dan Miscisco with a special merit award Saturday for his "significant contribution to the development of basketball" in British Columbia. Championships, will be retiring at the end of the current school year. In addition to his work at Handsworth, the high energy coach has also run athletic programs for the kids on the North Shore for more than 30 years. Aside from his tremendous record on the court - including numerous trips to the B.C.'s, V&D's and North Shore finals - his - off-court fundraising at the North Vancouver school is also legendary.
